I’ve always felt that Understanding is far more important than Knowledge. Not that Knowledge has no value. Just that it’s value is over-inflated in our society and hence our schools.

But with Google, I can look up any fact, quickly. So my ability to store facts in my brain is less valuable. And so school should change its emphasis from knowledge to understanding. This would mean that no more multiple choice tests. Something most bad teachers would fight to the death to maintain.
